PJH0802 Thank you, I am glad I have seen your post, I am needing to get a permanent mobile contract and this helps me make my decision. I cannot afford to have a service provider with no service and no way of speaking to someone who can assist.

It’s cheap, but you get what you pay for. I wouldn’t recommend friends take the new generation sim if awful, I’ve had no end of problems - dropped calls, caller not being able to hear when I answer, signal strength not as good in places that it was always ok. I wish I’d have stayed with the original sim.
Also concerned about rumours of a move to the EE network, the service is very poor in my local area. Vodafone is by the far the best coverage for me and the people who are now Lebara customers following my recommendation/ referral.

I have only just changed From EE because fed up of price increases I live in Nottingham and have hardly any reception since I changed. Got to admit when I was with EE never had a problem

certainly would recommend Lebara for anybody in my Kent region which has good [Vodafone] reception and is excellent value for money
compare any Mobile Virtual Network Operators [MVNOs] with the 4 UK mobile network operators (MNOs), but imho Lebara is best MVNO
However this community.lebara.co.uk/forum/ has technical problems when using a VPN on login you get

No Internet Connection

It seems like you dont have an active internet connection, Please check your connection and try again
but when you drop the VPN connection (i.e. you expose your own IP address) the login is successful.
Not an sensible error message as obviously your HTTP request/response internet connection works Ok
come on Lebara you can do BETTER!
The Android {Google Play] store has "Lebara" app name, but the icon shown confusingly says "MyLebara"
[I worried that I had inadvertently installed a rogue app that had just stolen my login credentials]. Suggest rename for clarity

Just switched from o2 - never got a signal at work and only had 3gb for £8. Now my reception is excellent and 50gb for £8. Can’t beat it

Been on with customer service twice now to try and sort my plan price out as being over charged. But disappointed as the network is great.

I wouldn’t recommend because although it slightly solves my reception at home (EE was bad), the signal in other areas is a lot worse. I’m not sure if Lebara is throttled as a 3rd Party or whether Vodafone just didn’t have the coverage of EE. Also I cannot send SMS to international numbers and I have family abroad. It will only work if the family member is on WiFi bit if they are not, it fails. I also don’t know why Lebara do not allow texts to short codes. The premium fee is charged to the customer on other providers. I have a monthly plan so don’t understand why the access is limitless with the charges passed on. It’s a bit backwards in this modern technical age.

Changed to Lebara after the recommendation from my daughter, so did this back end of last year from EE and its the best move I have done.

sorry, I wouldn’t recommend my family or friends to Lebara. We have 4 lines with Lebara within our family and one of the major reasons for us to move apart from the No annual increases and reasonable price was due to India calling & roaming facilities but so far I have not been able to receive one international bank codes or sms from friends , families and from the bank leaving me totally unable to perform any transactions unless I bit the bullet to travel to India spending around £1k for a flight. Complaints to Lebara via the in-app chat are managed extremely poorly, email responses are drafted by a bot without addressing the real problems , receiving sudden responses from complaints made ages ago (again with no substance or reference number). Although we can leave lebara at anytime , we are just sticking on as we get some promotional discounts on our new lines . Once that is over I am even thinking of moving our main lines from Lebara to competitor MVNO’s . Signal is also patchy !definitely no referrals from me unless all the above issues get resolved. I’m not even able to send money for my mothers care and medical bills . Sorry quite annoyed with Lebara hence thought to open up.

Would I recommend Lebara to my friends? Absolutely, if I knew they were considering a switch. I'm afraid I am unlikely to be recommending Lebara just because I have my phone with me (or as a means of proactively encouraging people to switch).

Yes I would recommend Lebara to friends. Why wouldn't you? They use the Vodafone network with good coverage but at half the price of Vodafone tariffs. Lebara has never let me down, it's reliable, affordable and best of all no mid contract price hikes.

Further to my previous post. The EU roaming is amazing; never have to worry about running out of Data. Excellent value.
