It would appear that I avoided falling for a scam today. Someone PMd me claiming to be from Lebara offering to help with a technical issue I have. He appeared to diagnose the problem and said a new SIM was needed. All sounded good until he said a “security deposit” was needed in order to send the SIM and asked for financial details. I declined to provide these and asked him to confirm what he needed by email. Inspection of the email header shows that he was not Lebara but was a scammer.
I would be pleased to share more details with a bonefide Lebara agent
Beware!
