How do I enable international SMS messaging on my Lebara plan. I currently have 100 international minutes, but can’t send a text message. Thanks

I think that I was previously able to do this, and possible it stopped working. I was in UK with a UK lebara sim card in one phone, and a different-provider-from-the-US (supposedly international support) sim card in another phone. The US-based sim thing could text to the UK lebara phone and it would receive, but if the UK lebara phone would text back the message would fail to send.

However, both of these two phones were feature phones not android/iOS with uncommon configurations. So I'm trying to figure out if my phone is the problem or if lebara just won't allow SMS to the US based numbers

I think I figured it out. I used the Top Up function and then I was able to send texts internationally, but each text would drain about £0.25 - £0.75 and I don't know if that depends on length or what. This seemed to happen despite me having an "unlimited text" monthly plan. So possibly this is a case where the international texts are gated on the pay-as-you-go system.
Frankly if I was going to text the people internationally that I was interested in texting (probably UK<->US) the number of texts exchanged would be too high, and £0.25 per message would quickly be untenable. So I'll probably let it run to 0 and not "top up" again in my case.

What is the point in having 100 free international minutes if you cannot use them to send text messages?? I have children who live abroad and text a lot so this sim is definitely not going to benefit me
