Thought, stupidly that it was a good idea to move to Sky Broadband and Talk (landline), not to be confused with Sky mobile, as had TV satellite with them, might get a bundled deal and change the whole contract date, for all 3 services.
Fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice, shame on Sky.
All was well, at first.
Broadband speeds 950 Mbps up and down, fabulous 👌
Then noticed the landlines, a really memorable number, great for the CV, friends, family to remember, hadn't migrated from Vodafone, hmm.
Called Sky, the ignorant automated service answering insisted on checking their Broadband for faults, every time a complaint was needed. Great memory.
First none committed customer service bod, advised, oh well the number will have been allocated elsewhere, basically not their or a Sky problem.
Rang back, Seems told the order needed cancelling, then reordering, to port the requested number over, as wished for. 72 hours turn around. Network Services would be in touch. At that point, able to make and take calls.
3 days later, now when ringing the wrong number allocated to the account from a mobile, gave a message, "That number has been changed", ringing the number that should have been ported over gave a message "That number has changed, please check you have dialled correctly". Dialling out on the landlines, to the mobile, dialled, then gave a dial tone. Hmm.
Rang back, asked Retentions if the TV, Broadband and landline contracts could be cancelled, that was not possible, it would only take Sky 7 to 10 days, to port a number across.
Waited 10 days. Rang back. Made another complaint using the chat again. Told by another, it has been raised to Network Services, 2nd time lucky? Wait 72 hours, they will definitely be in touch then.
3 days later, time running out, 30 days before the easily memorable landline number will be lost, rang the stupid automated answering message system, tested the line, there seems to be a problem says another advisor, sending a City Fibre engineer to test the equipment.
Found no fault on visiting we both agreed, as did his Manager, Sky provisioning problem. Hmm that's some detective work.
Rang them again. Was told sorry yet another pointless time, assured that he would call back today, didn't seem too pleased when that was requested. Guess What? Still waiting for a callback...
Bearing in mind this had gone on since 15th June install date, today is 12th July. Mental health deteriorated so badly after watching England and Touche Turtle get really lucky for a second time, the previous night, thought Lady luck may be shining, it was!
Shifted to a much better provider, better services, better cost. Ahh Bisto.
Then bombarded with emails and texts from Sky, pointless apologies, sorry you're leaving, after 4 years and Gold VIP status, but never the promised phone call, impersonal, couldn't care less, only requested 7 month early end of contract charges.
Best bit, they have 6 weeks from 15th June to sort the issue, before all the above goes to CISAS, in a pleasantly worded email.
Do you think they might call before then? Let's hope so. Oops just switched mobile provider on a temporary number. Oh, and the landline is still not provisioned, on the requested number, or the one Sky so generously thought they could lovingly give.
Moral of the story: never trust Sky, or try to resolve an issue so obvious, a blind man in a pitch black room could reveal. Bless their cotton socks.
