Esim or Roaming package

Hi I have a Samsung Galaxy A12 and will be heading to Australia in a few weeks.
Could somebody tell me am I better off with an esim or the Roaming package as I'm sure I've read somewhere the esim is only available/compatible with iphones
Any help is much appreciated
