Travel to China

Going to China soon, just wondering if I need to do anything specific to use my contract data when I get there?
I will also be going to Japan and coming home via Honk Kong, my plan is to buy a separate eSIM from another provider as the costs are more reasonable, any thoughts would be very much appreciated. Thanks JP

Lebara offers no free roaming in those countries but a lot of travellers use EsimDB for their travel needs.

Thanks for the reply, but this image seems to contradict how the land lies? I won’t take the risk so I will end up getting a eSIM but it would be useful if things were clearer!
