    Hi everyone,

There has been a lot of discussion recently about the affect that mobile phones are having on children's education. Mobile phones can be distracting to the user and have a wider impact on others in the classroom by causing disruption and even facilitate bullying.

On the other hand phones are an essential tool for keeping in touch with family and can be a valuable resource for learning, giving students access the Internet and can be incorporated into the learning process using apps and interactive lessons.

What are your thoughts on mobiles in schools? Are schools right to ban phones during class time, or even on the school grounds altogether or do you think a better approach would be to incorporate devices into lesson plans and make them part of the learning process?

Thanks for the reply jsdmins, how would you manage such a ban? Would you confiscate students phones at the gate a bit like when you go to a concert or show or would you have a more relaxed policy such as letting students use their phones at lunch but penalties for use during lesson time?
