This is because its MMS you need to top up account as its not free.

Superuser25 just checked my account and nowhere does it say anything about changing the plan, not functionally anyway. there are other plans that give more data but nothing about mms.

Your trying to send picture which costs money you must top up account to send.
Lebara doesn't offer you credit you only pay for allowances.
Anything outside that costs money which like pay as you go is upfront as its hybrid pay and go

Superuser25 what a stupid system. how do i know how much i need to add? it doesn't say. is it 10p per picture? or does it depend on the image size? i would rather pay more and have mms automatic that fart about having to charge up my account with more credits every time just to send images! this just creates unneccessary work for users.

Mms is an old legacy system not many providers are free anymore for this service most people use WhatsApp or RCS now which replaced mms and is free as long as other person has it enabled.

Picture & video messaging is charged at 45p/message

If you dont want to think about it you can enable automatic top up.
You will find top up / automatic top up in the Lebara app.

Superuser25 it may be an "old legacy system" but it's useful and people still want to use it. i have asked some contacts to get on whatsapp, specifically so i can send images, and they don't want to. 45p a message is a rip off.

Then get them to enable RCS chats as its next generation of messaging and free.
Compared to other providers its cheap

Being legacy technology it would be. If people move to RCS chats it will be free for everyone to use. (RCS is a bit like iMessage chats)

I agree with Superuser25, MMS should be avoided as it has been superseded by RCS and instant messaging apps like WhatsApp.
If you are really restricted to SMS then consider sending a link to an image. That pushes the responsibility of data transfer onto the recipient.

Tell them to enable RCS chats or iMessage.
Unfortunately mms is expensive whatever network your on.
                            Then as
                            pennypincher
said upload image onto image sharing sites and send them link.
