Checking my data use I have found a huge data loss of 7.64 gb in the early hours of the morning, 02.30 (not the first time this has happened. Does anyone else have this problem with Lebara? I was with Vodaphone for years before Lebara and this NEVER happened .

Few questions before.
1 - is your phone set to auto updates (software or firmware)
2 - Is cloud backup enabled i.e backup pictures or video.
3 - do you teether with your phone.
If none of these try contacting Lebara support.

I’ve contacted them and get waffle about my home wi fi signal dropping out during the night and using mobile data instead for app background refresh occurring. Not the case as i have almost all background refresh turned off
Im not a heavy data user at the best of times I don’t know how I could possibly use that amount when I’m asleep.
Ive just updated to latest ios but did this during the daytime when on wifi

I don't think your usage is for the time stated. I've checked my data usage on Lebara and it seems to get aggregated a lot of the times. So if you didn't get itemised data during the day when it was used then it will get lumped together in the early hours.
The other thing to note is that some phones especially iPhone have a feature call WiFi assist. This uses your mobile data to boost download speeds when using Wifi; or when WiFi connection is struggling for any reason. Why this is happening now I can't answer.
Having said all that, there is definitely a data based quirk on Lebara which other people have mentioned elsewhere - where they feel data runs out quicker.

Take a look at your data usage in the app. I’ll bet it shows it’s used in the early hours of the morning. I’m waiting for Lebara to tell me why mine is. I have background app refresh switched off and updates to wifi only . I’ll be leaving Lebara if this is not addressed to my satisfaction
