    Hi everyone,

With Christmas just around the corner lots of us will be traveling to visit friends and relatives I thought it would be a good time to get a topic started about getting ready for roaming before everyone starts heading out.

If you're traveling soon what's your plan for staying connected and in touch with friends and family at home?
    • Will you be using roaming or getting a local sim for your time away?
    • Are there any settings that you always double check before arriving?
    • Have you checked the roaming costs for your festive destination yet?

Below are a few tips for roaming to make sure you don't run into any issues...
    • Connect to free Wi-Fi in hotels, cafes, etc., to save data.
    • Turn off background data for apps like email/maps in your phone's settings.
    • Get maps for navigation apps before you leave home.
    • Check your balance and usage in the your My Lebara app to avoid surprises.
    • Be aware that incoming calls might incur charges outside the EU/India.

If you have any roaming tips that you can share with the community please share them in the comments below and don't forget to check the Roaming Rates Finder on the Lebara website before you go and purchase any required add-ons.

Martin Thanks Martin, that's a good prompt. Please can I ask 2 things: (1) I recently travelled to Lviv and Krakow and ensured that my APN settings were as advised but I was unable to pick up emails while oln the move, or more importantly access Google maps. Can you please advise what I should do for my next Europe trip? And (2) I am holidaying in January in Sri Lanka and want to ensure that I can do emails, browse etc while travelling, as well as access Google maps. Please can you advise me what to do to ensure this? Thank you!

Esther129 I checked the roaming rates finder for Spain and it looks like you're covered to use your plan as normal while there. Take a look at the fair use policy to make sure you. don't get any extra charges.

NeiPol If you're next trip stays in the EU you'll be able to Roam like at Home This means you can use your UK data allowance (up to 30GB) along with your UK minutes and texts. Check out the roaming rates finder for more information. For you're trip to Sri Lanka you'll need to purchase a roaming add-on to use your phone. Details here.

Hello - I am about to go on a cruise, starting in Maimi then to some of the caribbean islands. Is there a Roaming package that would cover the US and the Caribbean?
          Thanks

            Hi,
I was expecting phone calls whilst in South America. I initially realised it wouldn't divert calls to voicemail if you don't have any extra credit. So I added credit. But still callers were not getting through to my voicemail. All settings are correct on the phone and it works fine in the UK. When I called customer service, they said it doesn't "work yet" for some countries, but they are looking to fix it. Now I'm back, but when I ask customer services, they just make up an answer. Does anyone else have any info on whether they implemented a fix for it?

We are going on a holiday and visiting five different countries. Does anyone know if I can purchase a single international roaming add-on or do I have to purchase a separate roaming add-on for each country?

                  Hi
I have a quick question about roaming.
I am going to China for a couple of weeks in mid April. I'm aware that accessing the Internet is totally different out there.
My phone doesn't support an e-sim so that's not an option.
If I take out data roaming with yourselves for China will I be able to access the Internet like at home or will I have to sort out a VPN (and I don't really understand IT stuff so don't even know what this stands for.
                  Thank You

Martin before going to europe i specifically asked Lebara if my sim would work or if i would need a local sim. I was told and re-confirmed that my sim would work. But it didnt. I contacted lebara to complain, they are still looking into this 6 months later !

Hi. I go on cruises a lot, and mostly they are to destinations where your inlcusive roaming works. However, occasionally, ships visit ports where that isn't avaialable, but I can't book just a day in advance. Any chance you could find a way of providing a small amount of data over a period of, say, a fortnight or three weeks, so we can book it before we leave? That would be so useful! Thanks.

yes I’m about to do the same. A roaming package to cover multiple Caribbean destinations and USA would be great.

I’m going Germany. I’m excited to try roam like home without those dodgy SIM cards!
