    Thank you Leelvan1
Sorry Martin, I do apologise, I didn't spot that the OP's original question regarded eSIM.
In case it's relevant to others on the thread, please could you confirm the settings for those with a physical sim?

No worries Donostio, I'll find out the situation for physical SIMs in the Underground network. I'll drop you an @ mention as soon as I have something for you.

        Wi-Fi name : VodafoneWi-Fi
        1.Select the Network:
Step 1. Turn on your Wi-Fi settings, scan for available networks, and tap on Vodafone Wi-Fi
        2.Scroll to Advanced Settings:
Step 2. On the configuration screen that pops up, scroll down slightly past the "Auto reconnect" toggle to view the advanced credential fields.
        3.Change the EAP Method:
Step 3. Look for the option labeled EAP method (by default, this usually says PEAP). Tap on it to open the selection menu.
        4.Select AKA Authentication:
Step 4 .From the dropdown list, select AKA (if AKA is not visible on your specific device, select SIM instead).
        5.Connect to the Network:
Step 5. As soon as you select AKA, the manual "Identity" and "Password" input boxes will automatically disappear because your phone will now read credentials directly from your SIM. Tap Connect at the bottom of the screen. Note: This workaround works flawlessly whether you are utilizing a modern eSIM or a traditional physical plastic SIM card. Once these settings are saved, your Android device will automatically log into the free transit Wi-Fi network every single time you step onto a London Underground platform. Safe travels and happy browsing!

FrankA2 I’m not a big fan of iOS. In fact, I really dislike it because there are so many things you can’t adjust or fix manually. That’s why I don’t know how to solve this issue properly. But I tried something new — I searched online and found this option. You can try..!
On iPhones, Apple completely hides manual settings like "EAP Method" or "AKA". It is designed to handle SIM authentication purely in the background.
If she is using an iPhone and it's still throwing up that username/password screen, it means the phone's wireless cache has glitched out. Here is the exact routine to force iOS to look at her Lebara SIM card instead:
Step 1: Wipe the Bad Connection Memory
1 - if visible under your networks, tap the blue "i" icon right next to it.
2 - Tap Forget This Network at the very top. (This clears out the broken configuration trying to use a password).
Step 2: Clear the Radio Signal Cache
1 - While still in Settings, swipe down and toggle Airplane Mode to ON.
2- Wait 10 seconds, then toggle Airplane Mode back OFF. (This forces the phone to freshly re-read the network profiles on her Lebara SIM card).
              Step 3: Reconnect Automatically
1 - Crucial step: Instead of showing the password box, a small spinning wheel should appear for a few seconds while it silently checks her SIM card, and it will then show a blue checkmark to connect.
If it still stubbornly asks for a password:
If an iPhone absolutely refuses to bypass that login prompt, it means the carrier configuration settings for Lebara are temporarily stuck. She can trigger a forced refresh by doing this:
Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset.
              Select Reset Network Settings.
Note: This will restart her phone and erase saved Wi-Fi passwords (like her home Wi-Fi), but it completely rewrites the network files and fixes the Tube authentication problem 99% of the time!

On mobile data network setting for the eSIM, i can toggle off Use Network Provider Settings but it asks do i want to erase network setting? can these then be turned back on and revert back to original eSIM settings?
for wifi to work on underground, as mine was previously with physical sim, these setting need to be applied, Set up your Apple iPhone 16 Pro iOS 18 for internet | Vodafone UK, but i dont want to lose the current uk.lebara.mobi settings if i am not able to revert back.
