Added security check to phone purchase

I ordered a new iPhone for my wife, then got contacted and asked to prove I was who I said I was (send copy of my driving licence and photo of my self). I have two SIM card accounts with lebara, my wife has one and all three under my name and at the delivery address! I thought the security needs was a scam and contacted Lebara to tell them, I was amazed that they said I needed comply with the checks ( non of which was mentioned during the purchase) I cancelled the phone saying this was unreasonable as I could buy the phone over a shop counter without checks. Not got my money back yet? And when I checked Curry’s are selling the phone cheaper! Not much of a deal from Lebara.
not happy with any of this and will not be buying phones from Lebara after this very poor experience.
