Roaming allowance

Hi. When the roaming allowance says it starts from the moment you purchase it, does that mean - even if you are still in the uk - you start using your allowance? Or do you carry on with your normal allowance until you are "airborne".

For roaming add ons they cover either an 8 or 15 day period and and that period starts on the day you purchase the add-on so you should buy it as close to the start of your trip as possible. I hope this helps mric811 but if you have any follow up questions just let me know.

You don't need a roaming add-on if you're going to an EU country do you Martin. It's included in your data allowance, isn't it?

Thats correct mia100max, roaming add-ons are only for destinations outside of the EU and India. More information here.
