I've been a Lebara customer for 6 years on a monthly plan but I'm soon going to spend several months in Asia.
Although I intend to use a local SIM card whilst I'm out there I would like to keep my Lebara number active so that I can receive WhatsApp messages and text messages.
I understand that, before I leave, I can turn off the auto renew on my plan, add pay as you go credit then make a chargeable action (such as sending a text) before the end of each 90 day period that I'm out there which will keep my SIM card active.
Could someone please confirm that this is correct?

paulpud thats correct, Lebara SIMs stay valid for 90days of non usage after which the SIM is temporarily barred. The sim can be reactivated for a further 365 days of inactivity and only after that period will the SIM be permanently barred.

I have my lebara sim since 06/07/2025. I bought 30 days plan only when travelling to
the U.K.. Last time was in june 2026. Next time will be at the end of november 2026. I
received an email informing me that my sim will expire into 2 days from now if I do not buy another
plan, make a call, send a text, use some data or top up. Now my sim is disabled. As for Lebara conditions art 13, from now I should have 365 days to buy a new 30 days plan. Does conditions mean that I can buy a new plan in november without adding anything now and continue using my sim after buying the new plan?

MarjanR after 90 days the SIM is temporarily barred. You will then have 365 days to reactivate the SIM before it's permanently barred.
