My daughter received an unexpected call from a mobile phone whose number was French. The party phoning was definitely English. She was somewhat suspicious, but the call was innocuous. Does a French mobile number mean the call had to be coming from France or would a French mobile still show as French if the call was made from within the UK?

OldGrumpy For cold calls and scam calls it's not uncommon for the caller to be based outside of the UK or spoof the number so that it shows as coming from another country.
