Running out of rata

Contract renews in 2 days but app says I’ve used 5 of 5GB of data. Does phones stop working or do they charge for any more data I may use in the next 2 days ??

Data will just stop usually as lebara offers no credit.
Only reason they charge is if you turned on auto top up
