Slyb66 it is a hit or miss , you are using different phones most likely , they could not do anything on my phone , it is ridiculous in 2026 not to be able to connect to 5G knowing it exists from 2019

It's all about the bands your phone supports the antenna and the modem being used. My friend has iPhone gets 5g in work where i only sometimes get.
Also it depends how your phone identifies 5g there is 5g nsa and 5g sa.
Some phones may not identify nsa as 5g i assume.

      5G NSA (Non-Standalone)

NSA was the first version of 5G launched globally. It allowed carriers to offer "5G" quickly without rebuilding their entire infrastructure.
      • How it works: It uses a 5G antenna for data but relies on the existing 4G core network for control signals (like setting up the call or managing the connection).
      • Benefits: Fast rollout and cheaper for operators. You see a "5G" icon on your phone and get significantly better download speeds than 4G.
      • Drawback: It cannot achieve the "true" promise of 5G, such as ultra-low latency or massive device connectivity, because it is still tethered to 4G technology.

      2. 5G SA (Standalone)

SA is the "true" or "pure" 5G. It is an independent network that doesn't need 4G to function.
      • How it works: It uses both 5G antennas and a brand-new, cloud-native 5G core network.
      • Benefits: This version unlocks the most advanced features:
        • Ultra-low latency: Essential for self-driving cars and remote surgery.
        • Network Slicing: Allowing the network to be "cut" into private slices for specific uses (e.g., a dedicated slice for emergency services).
        • Better Battery Life: Your phone doesn't have to stay connected to two different types of networks (4G and 5G) simultaneously.
        usly.
        • Drawback: It is incredibly expensive and time-consuming for carriers to build, so it is still being rolled out in phases.
