Hi everyone, just curious about what your favourite dishes are and if you have any tradition cuisine from your local area or home town to share?

Mine is Scouse (meat and veg stew) I'm on the Wirral and this is our local delicacy, there's always disagreements over how it should be made and it's origins with my sister in laws preferring to use diced lamb whereas I use minced or leftovers.

    Great topic idea zeep2k!

I'm down south, just north of London and I'm a big fan of spicy food. Not the blow your head off kind, just a nice slow burn so curry, chilli or some spicy chicken always goes down well.

I actually have a chilli on the stove for dinner tonight but I wouldn't say it's a traditional dish for my area.

Martin Ooh haven't made a chilli for a while, I add dark chocolate to mine. Going to try and make new dishes from the suggestions on here.

zeep2k this is the second time I've come across Scouse recently - maybe meaning I should get involved and try it. Are you a fan of adding Worcestershire sauce to yours? and what about accompaniments - beetroot? pickled red cabbage?

I'm from Yorkshire so we have Yorkshire puddings, and we're also pretty well know for amazing fish and chips, but doesn't everywhere think they have the best fish and chips?!

NickEmmett yes I always add Worcestershire sauce, my mum in law added gravy browning to hers for the dark colour.

I love Yorkshire pudding, my hubby and son have any spare as an ice cream boat dessert.

Our chippy has giant fish which feeds the three of us, round by us it's a competition between chippy's for who does the nicest salt and pepper chips!
