    Hi everyone,

We're happy to announce that eSIMs are now available to Lebara customers!

    What is an eSIM?
An eSIM is a digital SIM built right into your phone or tablet. It works just like a regular SIM, letting you make calls, send texts,
and use data — without needing a physical card.

Are eSIMs available on all devices?
To start, eSIMs are available for new customers joining us with an Apple iPhone Air, with more devices being supported at a later time. Simply purchase a plan via our website and follow the steps provided.

For existing customers eSIMs are available on all handsets provided by Lebara. To request your eSIM simply get in contact with customer support to start the process.

    ESIMs vs physical SIMs
    Physical SIM
    • Plastic card that can't be recycled
    • Inserted or removed from a device via its SIM tray
    • Needs to be physically moved to switch devices
    • Limited to one mobile plan or number at a time

    ESIM
    • No physical chip required
    • Faster and more secure setup
    • Reduces waste
    • Protects against SIM theft and cloning

How do I get my eSIM?
For existing customers who want an eSIM all you need to do is click here to request your eSIM! alternatively, get in touch with customer support to request your eSIM and the team will take it from there.

For more information on eSIMs from Lebara have a read of our handy eSIM guide and if you have any questions post them in the comments below and we'll get back to you.

When you use an esim does it look like a different phone setup? or does it use the same contacts email etc etc?

Or you can save everybody's time by visiting https://www.lebara.co.uk/transition instead of contacting support.

Just to check, I have my own iPhone bought in an Apple Store and currently have a Lebara contract with a SIM card in, can I opt for eSIM instead?

Simpson as long as the handset supports eSIMs then you can get one from Lebara. Contact customer support to start the process.

Thanks for the reply Martin, I’m planning on buying a iPhone when I visit the USA, it has no SIM card tray so eSIM is the only option. On my existing phone (iPhone 15 with a Lebara SIM card in) can I request eSIM details on it and use it instead of the SIM card to make sure everything is working ok and I will have a smoother transition to my new phone?

Martin Hello, could I buy an e-sim plan instead of SIM card plan (I Phone 14 PRO)? I see on the website that says just for iPhone Air. Thank you

Simpson I'd believe that you will be able to use your existing plan to setup an eSIM on your new handset however I'd suggest giving customer support a call to confirm that the process will go through OK.

Giulia for new plans only the iPhone Air is available however as above give customer support a shout to confirm.
