You cant usually call 0800 numbers while roaming as they arent free.
It’s Probably Not Free
When you are abroad, the UK "Freephone" rules generally don't apply.
Roaming Charges: Most UK networks will charge you their standard roaming rate for a call back to the UK.
EU Roaming: Even if your provider offers "Roam Like at Home" in the EU, many consider 0800 numbers to be "non-geographic" or "special" numbers that fall outside your inclusive minutes, leading to unexpected charges.
2. Connection Issues
Many 0800 numbers are configured by the owner to block international calls to save them money.
To try and connect, you must use the UK country code: +44 800 or 00 44 800 (dropping the first '0' of the 0800).
If you hear a "number not recognized" tone or a recording saying the call cannot be completed, the company has blocked incoming calls from outside the UK.
