You cant usually call 0800 numbers while roaming as they arent free.

    It’s Probably Not Free

When you are abroad, the UK "Freephone" rules generally don't apply.
    • Roaming Charges: Most UK networks will charge you their standard roaming rate for a call back to the UK.
    • EU Roaming: Even if your provider offers "Roam Like at Home" in the EU, many consider 0800 numbers to be "non-geographic" or "special" numbers that fall outside your inclusive minutes, leading to unexpected charges.

    2. Connection Issues

Many 0800 numbers are configured by the owner to block international calls to save them money.
    • To try and connect, you must use the UK country code: +44 800 or 00 44 800 (dropping the first '0' of the 0800).
    • If you hear a "number not recognized" tone or a recording saying the call cannot be completed, the company has blocked incoming calls from outside the UK.
