I recently switched my Lebara SIM to a Lebara eSIM, keeping my existing number. All went OK and my existing number is assigned to the eSIM.

However, when sending a text message to my wife today using Google messages, with RCS enabled, I noticed that RCS in the app is using the temporary eSIM number and not my regular phone number. As a consequence my wife didn't know the message was from me.

Why is this happening and how do I get Google messages RCS to use my original phone number and not the temporary eSIM number?

For the benefit of anyone having the same problem, I found a solution that worked.

Go to Settings (Android in my case) > Apps > Messages > Storage > Clear data. I'd turned off RCS prior to the above but not sure whether that was necessary? When I turned RCS on again the app was once again using the correct phone number.

It's great that you were able to get this issue sorted on your own Pathkeeper and thanks for sharing the solution for others who might experience the same issue.
